The app also stores usage data including subscribed topics, fact ratings, and topic requests submitted.
Account data and subscriptions are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted within the EU. Saved flashcards are stored locally on the device using Apple CoreData and are never transmitted to any server.
Google's privacy policy applies to all Firebase services: policies.google.com/privacy
Data is retained as long as an account is active. Deleting an account via Profile → Delete Account removes all associated data from Firebase within 30 days. Locally stored flashcards are removed when the app is uninstalled.
No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Anonymised, aggregated topic popularity data may be used internally to prioritise which topics to add to the platform.
With explicit permission, the app sends local push notifications to remind users to check new facts. Notification frequency is fully configurable in the app settings. Notifications can be disabled at any time via iOS Settings → Knowtifs.
Knowtifs is not directed at children under 18. No data is knowingly collected from children under 18.
Under applicable data protection law (including GDPR), users have the right to access, correct, and delete their personal data. To exercise these rights, contact: support@knowtifs.app.
